THE 1999 LEAGUE

After the success of last year's Fantasy League, which Rob won by just 4 points, it'll come as no surprise that we are running it again this year. This season you'll be able to follow the fortunes of your team, and other news from the club, on our new web site at http://www.dearlovem.freeserve.co.uk./
The entrance fee remains the same at £5, but the rules for selection and scoring have changed a bit. You can enter as many teams as you can pay for (cheques are fine). We want to get as many entries as we can this year, from non-players. If each member enters a team and gets just 2 other entries from friends and family, we'd have 150 entries. Help non-players pick teams or contact me for pre-picked team. The closing date for entries is May 29th although you can still buy a pre-picked team up until the 2nd Saturday in June. You won't know who is in a pre-picked team until you've bought it.

I'd really appreciate it if you could get your entries in asap, so that I don't have to do all the work at the last minute.

The Rules

I've made some changes this year to make it just a little bit trickier. As usual I've include my own form guide to help you with your choices. Now, I want to make it absolutely clear, the form guide is just a bit of fun, please don't take it personally. Good luck with all your fantasies.

Selection

You must pick 11 players comprising: -
6 batsman (Column A), 2 All-rounders (Column B)3 Bowlers (Column C).

The total 'Player Power Rating' for your team must not exceed 500.

You must also nominate one of the club captains to be your team's captain (Rob Selwyn, Matt Pickett, Steve Lawrence); therefore at least one of those players must be included in your original selection of 11 players. The choice of captain could be critical since there are bonus points for captains.

There will be no transfers allowed.

Scoring (Only Saturday League games will count)

Batting

Players score 1 point for each run scored, +10 points for a 50 and 25 points for a 100. Any player who is not dismissed (ie DNB or not out) will score an additional 5 points.

Bowling

Bowlers score 12 points for each wicket they take + 10 points for a 5 wicket haul, + 4 points for each over they bowl. A point is deducted for each run they concede.

Fielding

Players receive 5 points for each appearance, 4 points for a catch, 5 for a stumping and 5 for a attributable run out. The team captain will be the sole judge of who is attributed with a run out.

Captaincy

The captain nominated in your team will have his points doubled. He will also score the following bonus points; 10 for a win, 5 for a tie. Captaincy bonus points and double points will apply only to the captain nominated in your team.

The prize

If a non-player wins the title; the prize will be £50 (More if we get a good response). If a player wins, the real prize will be knowing you beat everyone else, but you'll also get next year's annual subs paid. There'll be other prizes including one for the top non-playing manager.
